DO YOU EVER WONDER WHY YOU QUILT?

Writer's picture: Lynn BlaylockLynn Blaylock

I often do. The easy answer is that I love creating. I love color. I love the fabrics and designs. I love the process. But there is something more.

Quilting is something I think about all the time. I think about new patterns. I think about how I can use a fabric in a pattern. I think about how I should quilt a top I have made. I think about quilting as I am working on a quilt - how I can make it stand out. I think about something quilting related I want to share with someone.

Of course, we all have the desire to create. But quilting seems to be about more than that for me. It's how I live my life. It's a way to use my hands and my brain. It's a way to let my inner self come out in color and design. It's a way to do for others - giving a quilt you have made with your own hands. It's a way to slow down. It's helping others to learn how to do something and give someone confidence.

Quilting is a way of life for me. It has become my calling. I hope you will follow me on this journey. Together we can help others through our quilting.
